kyu was started on a simple concept by two Lebanese women, who decided to make something beautiful out of forgotten materials. They examined pieces of cloth, old surfaces, and unused leather, and realized the possibility. Every one of their works is not just handmade. It’s reborn.

At the heart of kyu‘s world are their unique handbags and purses, each one named after a galaxy, each one whispering its own story of creation, transformation, and light.

The Philosophy of Transformation

The question turned out to be the heartbeat of this brand. kyu uses upcycled taffeta and upcycled vegan leather to develop new bold designs that represent the purpose and individuality.

Their handbags are in limited editions, and each one is slightly different in feel or shade. The differences are not the flaws. They’re fingerprints. Both inscriptions of the hands that made them and the histories sewn into their hems.

The Condor S is based on the Condor Galaxy, the location of movement and equilibrium. Its form is in the same rhythm, its lines are sharp, its movement is soft and light falls of metal that capture the light.

We craft it in black upcycled vegan leather with a deep purple taffeta interior, reminiscent of a starlit night sky. The detachable strap makes it look like a crossbody within a few seconds into a handbag or clutch.

Made out of luxurious faux leather of rich and beautiful burgundy, this multitasking crossbody-handbag can go with you throughout the day and night. In the evening there is the chain handle, in the daytime the strap of leather. Its waterproof lining and two card holders make everything in order.

It is small, but it is not packed with essentials only. It carries purpose.

The MensaH is produced one by one by the local artisans in Lebanon with upcycled materials. None are the same, minute differences in the stitching or the tone make each of the ones individual. An insidious message about the fact that being unique does not mean being outstanding. It’s about staying true.

We create the exterior in bold, timeless black vegan leather, paired with a sparkly purple interior.The twin chain caters to mirror the convergent trajectories of two galaxies, a meeting point between power and beauty.

The shape of the Hoags O Handbag is a circle redefined; the shape is based on the rare ring galaxy beyond Hoag’s Object. The metal dark handle sweeps beautifully around supple upcycled leather. We line the interior with purple taffeta, giving it a vibrant touch of color.

We handcraft it in Lebanon from upcycled materials, giving it strength and resilience. There is a little variation of the curve of each handle, every fold has its own rhythm.
